Is irregardless a word?
So after freaking out half the people in my lane during last night's training by asking them that, I think I reached a conclusion, even though Gerard was basically the only who answered. :'(
Me: Is irregardless a word?
Gerard: Harh?
Then we swim 100m freestyle.
Gerard: What 'irregardless'?
Me: Isn't it a double negative?
Gerard: Yeah...
And so, after that in-depth, highly sophisticated and mind-blowingly intellectual discussion, here is my brilliant conclusion - Irregardless IS a word. (:
Since regardless = without regard for;
irregardless = without without regard for, or without no regard for = with regard.
Oh poo. These stupid dilemmas are distracting me from having a fruitful, productive training session. If this keeps up, I won't be ready for swim carn, let alone nationals.
Anyway. I just rode and after yesterday's frogjumps, it's official that my ass is aching.
And so is the rest of my body.
